Neon has always been a special dog. From the beginning she had that unmistakable Belgian spark, the kind of intensity and awareness that makes you realize very quickly she is going to do something interesting with her life.
She is one of the most accomplished herding Malinois in the country and currently ranks among the top herding Malinois in the United States. What makes that even more impressive is that she didn’t earn those titles by accident. Neon genuinely loves the work. The moment she sees stock her entire world snaps into focus and you can see exactly what the breed was designed to do. She is a working girl through and through. Can easily switch between complex herding styles and excels. She is my main herding partner currently and is a our chore dog.
She has the speed, power, and athleticism people expect from a Malinois, but what really sets her apart is her brain. Neon thinks through problems, reads stock well, and has the kind of natural balance that makes handling her a lot of fun. Watching her work sheep is one of those moments where you remember why Malinois are so addictive.
At home she is just as engaging. Neon is expressive, affectionate, and always paying attention to what is happening around her. She has a big personality and a lot of opinions, but she is deeply bonded to her people and wants to be part of everything.
Neon represents everything I love about the Belgian Shepherd. Drive, intelligence, athleticism, and the heart to work all day if you let her.
